Hokkaido, formerly known as Ezo, Yezo, Yeso, or Yesso, is Japan's second largest island.
It is also the largest and northernmost of Japan's 47 prefectures.
The Tsugaru Strait separates Hokkaido from Honshu,
although the two islands are connected by the underwater railway Seikan Tunnel.
The largest city on Hokkaido is its capital, Sapporo, which is also its only ordinance-designated
city.

Symbol of Hokkaido
That is my first time step into the land of Hokkaido. I was very excited and I saw many interesting things at ther. Such as, the elevator in the airport will only function when they sense there are people want to use it.
Then the places are clean. Because when I arrived there in the evening, so after check in to the Hotel, I went to a hill side near my hotel to see the night view of Hokkaido.

Night View of Hokkaido
After wake up in the morning, I start my journey in Hokkaido on Lake Toya. On the way going to Lake Toya, I can see many nice scene that cannot saw in my hometown. And what I can say is-- Hokkaido is really a clean place that I go before. There are no rubbish beside the road, no smelly drain and etc.
This is the look of lake toya.

Lake Toya
Lake Tōya is a volcanic caldera lake in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Abuta District, Hokkaidō, Japan. It is a part of "Toya Caldera and Usu Volcano Global Geopark" which joins in Global Geoparks Network. The stratovolcano of Mount Usu lies on the southern rim of the caldera. The lake is nearly circular, being 10 kilometers in diameter from east-west and 9 kilometers from North-South. The lake's biggest town, Tōyako Onsen is located on its western shore. The town Tōyako is located on the other side of the lake.
Besides Lake Toya, there are many interesting hotel. One of the hotel is build in long long time ago-1978. So inside the hotel have many antique things.
And then I also take the opportunity to go to visit the Hill Shikisai. The place was amazing! I totally cannot believe what I saw because it really looks like a pictures! Many colorful flower was plant in there.

Hill Shikisai
The panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka provide spectacular views across seven hectares of land on Oka-no-machi Biei.
It is a paradise of seasonal blossoms from spring through to fall, in which several dozen different species of flowers and grasses flourish.

There are many wild birds perched on Lake Creek, so it is a hot spot for eco-tourism.

Shikotsu-ToyaNational Park
Mt.Yoteiis an active volcanolocated in Shikotsu-ToyaNational Park. Because its beautiful conical shape is reminiscent of Mt.Fuji, it is known as Ezo Fuji, Ezo being an old name for Hokkaido. In summer, people enjoy climbing this 1,898-meter high mountain.
In fall, the mountain is dressed in beautiful autumn colors. In winter, the entire area is covered with snow, and about 20 meters of snow accumulates on top of the mountain. When spring comes and it gets warm again, the snow on the mountain melts and turns into water that then seeps into the ground.
That's all for my journey in Hokkaido.Stay tune for my next destination.
